Day One Hundred Thirty Six: Steamed Pork Lettuce Wraps

OK, I’ve been wanting to make these for awhile.
It would have been smart to consult a recipe, but I figured I could wing it.
I did pretty well.
I brought some salted water to a boil and blanched a few lettuce leaves for about thirty seconds to make them foldable, then put them in an ice bath.
I took some ground pork, placed it in a bowl, and folded in minced Spanish onion, cinnamon, salt and pepper.
The pork mixture got made into a few little patties, then wrapped in the lettuce leaves.
I had never made these before, but the process seemed pretty obvious.
After the coals were hot, I put the cast iron skillet on with a few cups of water and a little apple cider vinegar.
I put a colander into the skillet and the rolls into the colander.
I figured they would take about ten minutes to steam and I was right.
They were pretty delicious.
I’d like to give this another shot with cabbage for wrap.
We love you guys.
Goodnight.
