Originally what I wanted to grill today was a beer can chicken. I did one earlier this year but with a pumpkin ale. I brought a 12pk of Natty Boh (National Bohemian) from Maryland and wanted to do beer can chicken with that.
But I got stuck inside waiting for a couple of packages. One, Kurt’s birthday gift, the other two Anthropologie. God knows the second I step out side to grill the doorbell will ring and I’ll miss the package(s).
Around 2pm I seasoned my chicken and preheated the oven to 400. I like to start on higher heat to crisp the skin. My seasoning: oil, salt, pepper, and a nice coating of paprika.
As the chicken baked I would occasionally stroll by the window, hoping to see the UPS truck roll up. I did notice the mail truck outside but we normally don’t get our mail till pretty late, 4:00pm.
Tried of waiting I checked the mail. To my surprise there were two packages for me but one of the two not from Anthropologie. It was my Christmas gift from Kurt’s family; he left it back in Little Rock.
His mom got me this adorable owl wine stopper/plug or whatever they are called for open bottles of wine. I’ve wanted a cute one for a while but could never find one I really liked. I really like this one!
With UPS nowhere insight I decided to go ahead and start the grill and also sweep up some coal ash. Since we grill so much a lot of ash ends up on the ground. I would hate the condo association make a stink over it.
After the veggies were done I sliced up the pepper and filled my plate!
