Day One Hundred and Three: Cuban Sandwich

New Year’s Eve is stressful.
I haven’t had one off since I was fifteen.
That’s a long time.
So, I grabbed a Cuban sandwich from work and headed for home.
Although it was a fairly lazy move on my part, it also happens so be a fantastic sandwich.
And I love sandwiches.
This I’ve written about on this blog thing quite often.
A traditional Cuban sandwich is made with pork, mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese, then pressed under a brick and served super flattened out.
This one is made with Mojo (herbacious, citrusy sauce) pork butt and black forest ham.
It’s really good.
As before with my adventures in panini, I still didn’t have a press.
So, once the coals were hot and the grill greased, I just pressed the hell out of the thing with my hands, covered the sandwich to melt the cheese, repeated on the opposite side and ate up.
I’d eaten very little in the last few days, so that guy didn’t stand a chance.
I hope you all had a good New Years and were relatively safe.
