Day 51- Grilled Baked Chicken

And we’re back to chicken. I wanted to do game hen, but someone forgot to put them in the fridge yesterday.
I went to the store to buy more but they didn’t have any. Instead I just got a small whole chicken. Before the grilling blog started I would bake a whole chicken with just oil, salt, pepper and paprika.
Since we’ll probably get a new stove and some appliances on Sunday, I figured I’d try this old oven favorite on the grill.
I didn’t set the coals in the middle of the grill because I didn’t want the chicken to get direct heat. The only other time I grilled a whole chicken is when I did the beer can chicken earlier in the project.
That recipe said not to put the chicken directly over the coals so I did that again. However, this chicken took twice as long to cook; I even had to add more coals.
When The chicken was finally done, in a little over an hour, I sauteed some spinach and dug in. I saved the legs for Kurt but not much more.
Thanks for reading!
