Day 25-Beer can chicken
2October 15, 2012 by chicagogrilling365
Today I wanted to cook one of my favorite chicken dishes, beer can chicken. In honor of the Fall season I decided to use a pumpkin ale. I’ve never had beer can chicken with anything other than PBR or some other cheap beer.
We haven’t done a whole chicken on the grill yet so I was a little unsure as to how it would turn out. I also had to use more coals than normal to keep the heat up.
I cleaned my bird and patted it dry, then rubbed it down with oil. and covered the bird in a dry rub I made.
It was a rainy day but my coals started right away. When the coals were good and hot I took my bird and beer out. With the can a little more than half way full I shoved it up the bird’s keister!
sounds delicious (although i hate pumpkin beer) . . . may have to give this a shot soon!
Yeah, Jenny’s the big pumpkin beer fan. The chicken was good, though.
