The one thing that sucks about living in a highly Hispanic neighborhood is that you can’t find pre-made guacamole or pico de gallo. I’m sorry but that bottle and a half of wine I drank last night was not motivation for making homemade guacamole.
After watching one of my favorite episode of Bones I scurried off to Andy’s Fresh Market to get my ingredients. I bought a quarter pound of skirt steak, a Spanish onion, tomato, green onion, jalapeno, a lime, cilantro, and a thing called Mexican melting cheese. I already had chips at home; oh, and I bought sour cream.
Kurt told me to buy chihuahua cheese but the store didn’t have any. That’s why I ended up buying the blob of melting cheese.
They may have been the worst nachos I’ve ever had, only because of the cheese. The “melting cheese” hardened as soon as it came outta the pan. It’s all good because I will have a lovely meal later with Jennie Childs AKA the other Jennie!
Well, three weeks down and forty-nine to go…
